The 2017 Maidenhead Beer & Cider Festival will be held on: Thurs. 19th, noon to 10pm; Fri. 20th, noon to 10.30pm & Sat. 21st October, noon to 10.30pm at our fantastic new venue The Magnet Leisure Centre (Pearce Suite), Holmanleaze, Maidenhead, SL6 8AW. This year we have approx. the same indoor area as last year with 140+ real ales, ciders & perries on offer. Please note that due to licensing restrictions this will be an 18+ event. Drinks will be served in 2 distinctive glasses: an over-sized pint glass marked one third (small), two thirds (medium) and one pint (large), as well as a stemmed glass, marked one third and two thirds.
So, no half pints.... why, I hear you say? Because we DID reduce the queuing time at the bar last year and made life easier for our volunteers, but more importantly, gave punters a better opportunity to experience a wider range of beers and ciders. So we will continue with our easy voucher system. i.e. no cash at the bar. Each voucher will be exchanged for a third of a pint... simple. However, if you choose a beer less than 4% ABV, you will receive a refund (in the form of a 10p token) per third pint measure. All beers will be £3.50/pt. except for beers below 4% which will be £3.20/pt. Tickets to the festival will be £12.50 purchased in advance or £15.00 on the door. This includes a commemorative glass, programme and two pints worth of vouchers. CAMRA members will receive vouchers for an extra pint. Any unused vouchers are refundable on leaving the festival, or you can donate them to legacy leisure. Please note there will be no refund on the glass.
The festival will be officially opened by Borough Town Crier, Chris Brown, in his inimitable style, including his Festival Proclamation at 13.00 on Thursday.
